An empty SDR seat costs every meeting that seat would have booked, from the day it opens until the new hire reaches full quota. Put in your own numbers to see it in meetings, pipeline and revenue. Free, no signup, nothing leaves your browser.

What the open seat costs
$167,308
of pipeline not created before the new SDR reaches full quota.
1.8 months with nobody in the seat, plus half of 3 months of ramp, is 3.3 months of full-quota meetings that never happen.
The empty weeks are the part you can start on today.
Monty writes, sends and answers cold email from your own mailbox while you hire. When the new SDR starts, they take over campaigns that are already running.
Start with your listHow it is worked out
A worked example. These are example numbers, not industry figures. A team whose ramped SDR books 10 meetings a month, worth 5,000 of pipeline each, takes 8 weeks to hire and 3 months to ramp. That is 1.8 months empty plus 1.5 months of lost ramp, or 3.3 months of full-quota meetings: about 33 meetings and 167,308 of pipeline. At a 20% win rate, about 33,462 of revenue. Every week the seat stays empty adds about 2.3 meetings to that.
The ramp is assumed to be a straight line from zero to full quota. The model counts what the seat would have produced, not salary or recruiting fees.
Count it in meetings first. Take the meetings a ramped SDR books in a month, multiply by the months the seat is empty plus half the ramp, then multiply by the pipeline each meeting creates. With 10 meetings a month, 8 weeks to hire, a 3-month ramp and 5,000 of pipeline per meeting, that is about 33 meetings and 167,308 of pipeline that never gets created.
A new SDR does not book nothing during ramp, and does not book a full quota either. If they climb in a straight line from zero to full quota, they miss half a quota across the ramp on average. If your hires ramp faster or slower than that, shorten or lengthen the ramp months to match.
No. It counts what the seat would have produced, not what it costs to fill. Salary saved while the seat is empty and recruiting fees are separate lines; add them yourself if you are building the full case.
Shorten either half. Hire faster, or start outbound before the new SDR arrives so they inherit campaigns that are already running and replies already coming in, rather than an empty list.
No. The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing to a server. Once you change a number, the inputs go into the page address so you can share the result; nothing else keeps them.
